He holds the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants specialty designation of (ABV) Accredited in Business Valuation, (CFF) Certified in Financial Forensics and the (CVA) Certified Valuation Analyst designation issued by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Mr. Pannese worked for KPMG (Peat, Marwick ) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a Field Agent and an Appeals Officer. His professional practice focuses on expert witness and IRS representation work.
Mr. Pannese holds a Bachelors of Accounting degree from Sacred Heart University and a Masters of Science in Taxation from the University of New Haven. He is a member of the: National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute’s Tax Division as well as their Business Valuation and Forensics section, and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). He is also a member of the CSCPA’s Federal Tax and Estate and Gift Tax Committees.
Mr. Pannese has been published in the Journal of Accountancy, the Tax Adviser, the Valuation Examiner as well as academic journals. He is an Associate Professor on the full time faculty of Sacred Heart University where he teaches taxation and business valuation in both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Mr. Pannese has recently associated with the business valuation firm Brentmore Valuation Advisors, LLC (“BVA”) (www.BrentmoreAdvisors.com) as a Consultant. BVA specializes in the valuation of closely-held businesses for estate, gift and income tax purposes, transaction advisory services and value maximization strategies. BVA has offices in West Hartford and Trumbull, Connecticut and New York City.
